Customers trust Amazon the most for online holiday shopping security, according to a study.
Online shopping is booming, but not all retailers are equally trusted by consumers. Amazon stands out as the most reliable platform for holiday shoppers, according to a recent study from HostingAdvice, which surveyed over 1,000 US adults in October.
The study found that 72% of American consumers trust Amazon more than other retailers for online shopping, especially during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Amazon was seen as the most secure online holiday shopping option, followed by Walmart (49%), Target (35%), Best Buy (22%), and eBay (21%).
Other sites like Google Shopping (16%), Facebook Marketplace (12%), and Wish (11%) were less preferred by shoppers, who were concerned about their safety and privacy.
However, not everyone is planning to shop online for holiday gifts this year. Some people are skipping the holidays altogether because of inflation, according to WalletHub’s latest Holiday Shopping survey.
The survey revealed that more than one in three Americans are avoiding holiday spending, and 28% of customers plan to spend less than last year.
This is understandable, given that consumers have been reducing their spending, and many retailers are offering discounts to attract shoppers.
