The coronavirus pandemic has forced many people to decide not to gather with family and friends like they normally would for Thanksgiving. With that in mind, Zoom is reminding users that it’s dropping its time limit for the holiday.

Zoom, the popular videoconferencing software, has seen its popularity soar during the pandemic. With cases spiking across the country ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that people only have gatherings with people within their households.

The CDC has also said it recommends people not travel for the holiday. That will leave a lot of people looking for ways to spend time with their families virtually, and Zoom is hoping to step in and fill that void.

Zoom is lifting its normal 40-minute limit for free video calls on Thanksgiving. The lift of the limit will be from 12am ET Thursday to 6am ET Friday.

The time limit removal is for free Zoom accounts. Paid accounts already do not have a time limit.

“There’s nothing you need to do. The minutes cap will be automatically lifted. Simply start a Zoom meeting and enjoy unlimited meetings for the duration of the Thanksgiving holiday,” the company wrote in a blog post.
