Hillary Clinton’s 2016 ‘Warning’ About a Defeated Trump Resurfaces

During a presidential debate between then-presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump back in 2016, moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump if he would accept the results of the election, even if he lost. Clinton’s response is now going viral amid Trump’s election fraud claims in 2020.

“I will tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense,” Trump told Wallace at the time, signaling that he would handle defeat and victory differently.

It was Clinton’s response, however, that people are taking a newfound interest in. “Every time Donald thinks things are not going in his direction, he claims whatever it is rigged against him,” she said.

She then pointed to the string of examples of Trump acting out when things aren’t going his way, such as when he claimed the Republican primary was rigged against him after he lost the Iowa caucus and Wisconsin primary.

“Then Trump University gets sued for fraud and racketeering; he claims the court system and the federal judge is rigged against him,” she continued. “There was even a time when he didn’t get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row, and he started tweeting that the Emmys were rigged against him.”

“This—this is a mindset,” Clinton added. “This is how Donald thinks, and it’s funny, but it’s also really troubling. Now that is not the way our democracy works.”

While Trump went on to win the presidency in 2016, he claimed mass voter fraud was the reason he lost the popular vote to Clinton. And as it becomes more and more clear that Trump is going to lose the 2020 presidential election, the president and his supporters are ramping up claims of election fraud, without any evidence.
