Ellie the golden retriever is taking the internet by storm.
Every week, at least once a week and sometimes more, Ellie’s dad Nick orders his favorite food from the Chick-fil-A mobile app.
Then, they drive to the same Chick-fil-A location in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to pick it up.
Chick-fil-A seems to have really nailed its safe and easy curbside pickup options during the pandemic.
As you’re about to discover, the entire Chick-fil-A staff has come to love Ellie and her dad, and it’s easy to see why.
One employee named Amanda spoke with Newsflare to describe the dog and dad’s adorable process: “After her owner places the mobile order, Ellie waits in the designated parking spot until she sees one of our members come out with her bag.
She then runs to the team member, takes the bag and gently trots back to her owner. She carries the bag all the way home, about 0.3 miles.”
This routine happens so often that Nick doesn’t even have to tell the staff to hand Ellie the bag. They just automatically know to do it!
This video was filmed collects her owner’s Chick-fil-A order from the restaurant and delivering it back to Nick.
Nick says that whenever people see Ellie excitedly retrieving and delivering the food bags, they pull over their cars and start taking videos.
Chick-fil-A posted a clip to the restaurant’s Facebook page where it garnered over four million views. The viral clip earned Ellie a starring role in a new national Chick-fil-A commercial in which she proudly shows off her delivery skills.
